Bunji Travel is a volunteering opportunity from The Nangala Project, a non-profit initiative to relieve poverty and disadvantage amongst Australian Indigenous children and their families. The Jumbana Group has operated in Indigenous Australia for almost 30 years, and created the Nangala Project to support local, sustainable engagement.
It is rare for the traveller in Australia to experience an authentic taste of traditional Aboriginal life. Bunji Travel invites you to go out of your way, not only to enjoy unique insights to the natural and cultural world of the planet's longest continuing society, but also to pitch in to help make these communities a better place for the children growing up in them.
Local knowledge turns a good trip into a truly memorable one. As a volunteer, you will have the full support and guidance of the local Bunji coordinator and team. You will be provided with all the assistance and information you need.
Bunji Travel is a not-for-profit social enterprise, investing all its earnings back into Nangala projects.
We are currently taking bookings for 2012 trips from May 7 to the remote Aboriginal community of Borroloola, NT
So – pack your open mind, a willingness to do whatever is needed, and a big heart, and take off on your Bunji volunteering adventure!
